Subject: [e] Exegesis Returns (Again!)
Hello folks, you are receiving this because you once
subscribed to the Exegesis Astrology mailing list.
This is your list moderator, Fran. A few weeks ago the
server that handles this list (and a few other duties)
fell over and died. It has taken me until now to find
a new computer and recover the old files and install
all the needed software and do some testing on the
whole configuration. I've reached a point where it all
seems to be working correctly and I probably can't
improve it much beyond where it is now without some
feedback from users. Since it is the solstice I
figured that soonest was probably a good time to
re-subscribe the old user list and see what happens!
I spent some time looking at list management software
and decided that GNU Mailman was a better choice than
the old package was since it has a nice web interface
and archives the list postings and is easier to
administer. I think that things should be much better
overall. You will have some direct control over your
setting via a web interface, and I can now easily
reconfigure the list and delegate moderator tasks to
others if needed. There are also some options for spam
filtering which I have yet to investigate and I hope
we will not need to institute. We'll see. I've decided
to allow messages straight through, without review. If
needed we can change this. As usual, if you have
problems, send me an email and I'll do what I can to
help out.
I've reset the Volume number to 10, even though the
list is not quite 10 years old, but I couldn't figure
out how to sync exactly to the old Issue number. This
list has a long history of rising phoenix-like from
the ashes, so let us see if it can happen again.
So, to our old friends, welcome back! To our new
friends, welcome!

Subject: [e] new planet, precession
The discovery of the new planet 2003UB313 is bound
to lead to wider
discussion of long term meaning. Astro-noetics.com
has some good
commentary at http://astro-noetics.com/newsletter/aug.htm.
For all the
science the website is at http://www.gps.caltech.edu/~mbrown/planetlila/
Astrologers will be looking at the comparison with the
discovery of the
other outer planets. eg
1781 - Uranus - industrial revolution
1846 - Neptune - chemical revolution
1930 - Pluto - atomic revolution
2005 - 2003UB313 - earth cosmic revolution
The naming should be a real battle of the gods.
I have written a couple of papers which people in the
group may be
interested to read. A short paper on Biblical references
to cosmology and
precession is at
http://www.ascm.org.au/jgOnline/2004Winter/jg2004winter.htm#Part6
A paper I recently presented on astrology and precession
as a basis for
looking at Christianity and complexity is on the net
but there is a trick -
you cannot open the paper directly but have to right
mouse click and go to
'save target as'. It is at http://pstf.com.au/papers/

Subject: [e] Re: 2003UB313
are astrologers waiting for the official name to decline its pseudo-effects in a chart ??
this new planet 2003UB313, -- is it ? --, doesn't mean nothing for astrology, nor an sich, nor in sich, & certainly not "für mich" !
